One issue advanced as four declined, although only three of the latter counted for market capitalisation.
Bank of Bermuda closed unchanged at $34 after 1,400 shares changed hands. Bank of Butterfield also remained unchanged at $16.50 on a volume of 400. Bermuda Commercial Bank closed with no change at $5 after 753 shares traded.
The only gainer was BF&M 9% Conv. Cum. Red. Pref., which gained $0.125 on trading of 2,636 shares to close at $10.
The decliners included Bermuda Commercial Bank Warrants `01 after trading of 200 shares left it 25 cents lower at 75 cents. Bermuda Home was $0.125 lower at $10.625 on a volume of 4,184.
Utilities also suffered. BELCO Holdings Ltd. fell 25 cents to $23.25 after 400 shares changed hands and Bermuda Telephone Co. dropped $2 to close at $30 on trading of 4,000 shares.
