Police said that at about 11.30 p.m. on Sunday, the man returned to his home on Cobbs Hill Road and saw someone going into his parent's bedroom.

He entered the room where his parents were sleeping and was confronted by the burglar.

According to Police spokesman P.c. Gary Venning, a "violent struggle'' took place but the offender escaped and ran from the house. Nothing is thought to have been stolen and enquiries are continuing.
