intent to supply, 2.44 grams of cocaine in December of last year.

Omari Hart, 26, of East Dale Lane in Southampton, pleaded not guilty to the charge.

Acting Senior Magistrate Edward King asked Crown Counsel Charmaine Smith if the case was a "biggie'' while trying to schedule the case for trial.

Mrs. Smith said the Crown had six witnesses and the amount of drugs was 2.44 grams of cocaine.

Hart was released on $1,000 bail and will face trial in early June.

Dennis Trott, 30, of Robert's Avenue in Devonshire, said he did not feel the offence was violent and asked Acting Senior Magistrate Edward King for a light penalty.

The incident occurred as the officers were arresting Trott's friend at about 11.30 p.m. He asked them: "Why the f*** are you arresting my friend?'' Despite a Police warning about swearing in public, he repeated the offence and asked the same question.

Gaelan McKenna, 37, of New York City, pleaded guilty in Magistrates' Court to possessing 2.4 grams of cannabis at the Bermuda International Airport on April 17.

A Police dog sniffed out the drugs as McKenna was collecting his bags after disembarking from Continental flight 981.

Customs officers searched McKenna and discovered the drugs in his golf bag and taped to the inside of his underwear, inside a small plastic bag.

McKenna told Acting Magistrate Edward King: "I sincerely apologise to the court and the people of Bermuda.'' PUBLIC DRINKERS PUNISHED CTS Public drinkers punished Two men were bounded over for six months in Magistrates' Court after being caught drinking in public on the same day.

Victor Fabian, 40, of Barrack Lane in St. George's, and Alfred Ray, 59, of Scenic Heights Lane in Sandys, pleaded guilty to drinking in a public place on April 6.

Fabian was caught in Hamilton's City Hall car park and Ray was nabbed near Ordnance Island in St. George's.

Fabian told Police "it's just like soda'' after being caught with a can of Dark and Stormy.

"Can't you give me a break. I did not really mean to do it. The guy just gave it to me -- I was ready to go home,'' Fabian said.

IMPAIRED DRIVER FINED CTS Impaired driver fined A 34-year-old Devonshire man was disqualified from driving in Magistrates' Court yesterday morning after pleading guilty to impaired driving last month.

Mark Mcallister, of Devonshire Bay Road, told Police he had two drinks when he was pulled over near Court Street for running a red light.

A breath analyser revealed Mcallister had a blood alcohol level of 171 milligrams in 100 millilitres of blood.

The legal limit is 80 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood.

Acting Senior Magistrate Edward King fined the man $750 and disqualified him from driving all vehicles for 12 months.
