Royal Gazette photographer David Skinner was working in his garden on Saturday when he noticed a friendly fellow flying closer and closer to him.

"After ten minutes, he was eating right off my shoulder,'' said Mr. Skinner.

His two young daughters nicknamed the bird Charlie. And when 12-year-old Ashley and ten-year-old Kelly went out into their yard the next morning and called out for their new friend, Charlie responded.

He happily dined once more with the girls.

The Bermuda Aquarium, Museum and Zoo later identified Charlie for the Skinners as a ringed turtle dove.
