Bank of Bermuda stock plunged $1 to close at $31 while the Bank of Butterfield fell 25 cents to $16.25 yesterday on the Bermuda Stock Exchange.

The falls sent the index down 27.62 points, or 1.9 percent, to 1,449.45 on a volume of 20,649 shares valued at $403,727.
