infection will conduct a telephone survey over the next two weeks.

Allan Vincent Smith Foundation volunteers will ask respondents questions about the organisation, their knowledge of AIDS and HIV infection and personal practices.

Spokesman Joe Gibbons said the foundation had been operating for three years with excellent results.

However the time had come to get feedback from the community to ensure its resources were being directed as effectively as possible, he added.

"We have to know how people view the foundation, whether they have used its services, if the attitudes toward abstinence or safer sexual practices are valid ones in our community and which group -- if any -- we may be overlooking in our on-going efforts to educate.'' Respondents will be selected randomly and Mr. Gibbons said he hoped they would have the time and interest to complete the survey and help the foundation continue its work.
