Good win for PHC

Ham. Parish 205 Former goalkeeper Ty Williams smashed 74, opener Mark Smith 60 and Arthur Richards 52 as PHC amassed their biggest total of the season on Sunday as PHC won by 90 runs over ten-man Hamilton Parish.

In the team's biggest stand, Williams and Richards added 129 for the sixth wicket to take the score from 130 to 259. They had a perfect start when Smith and Alfred Carter (18) put on 70 for the first wicket.

The Hamilton Parish wickets were shared around with Michael Burgess taking three for 51, Roderick Masters two for 50 and Phillip Bailey two for 77.

Bailey and Masters also led the Parish batting as an opening stand of 77 between Masters and captain Dennis Trott laid a foundation before a slump saw them in trouble at 99-5. Masters scored 42 while Bailey scored 64 in the tail-end.

PHC captain Cal Waldron took five for 37 from 10 overs.

YMSC 219 Warwick 219-7 Good performances by Corey Berkeley and Harold Minors with the bat and Terry Stovell with the ball came in vain as Warwick handed Social Club a three-wicket defeat at Nationals.

Berkeley scored 61 and Minors 65 as Social Club reached what they thought would be a winning total. They were struggling at 43-5 at one stage before Berkeley and Minors added 125 for the sixth wicket to lead the recovery. Hoyt Zuill claimed four for 32 to lead Warwick's bowling as Daniel Caines, Steven Bremer and Daniel Morgan each claimed two wickets.

A third wicket stand of 105 between Morgan and Johnny Nusum proved vital as they took the score from 49-2 to 154 before the breakthrough resulted in a slump as four more wickets fell for 34 runs before victory.

Morgan was high man for Warwick with 67 while Nusum scored 46 and Daniel Caines 22 which came in an opening stand of 44 with Trent Simmons (15).
