new fare to mark the opening of its latest direct service to and from London.

The "spring saver'' fare, which is open to Bermuda residents only and for travel from Bermuda only, costs $689. It is valid for travel from this week through to September 30.

The fare represents a 30 percent markdown by the airline. Previous APEX fares cost $1,023 for the Tuesday flight to London and $1,088 for the Saturday flight.

BA specifications stipulate that travellers must stay a minimum of seven days and a maximum of one month. All reservations and ticketing have to be completed by May 15.

BA Bermuda manager Mr. Philip Troake said the fare reductions were an example of the airline being "keen to show our commitment to the Bermuda market.

"We think this exciting new fare is an ideal way of encouraging Bermudians to try our new service with more convenient timings as well as a full range of connections both to the UK and to Europe.'' The new BA service from London turns around in Bermuda, eliminating the previous onward leg to Florida.
