multi-million dollar East End hotel development has begun.

Land at Paynter's Hill is currently being cleared to allow the construction of a new golf tee for Marriott Castle Harbour Resort's golf course.

The move is part of the $65 million hotel revitalisation scheme pegged for the property.

The golf course work, which will see the construction of a substitute tee for the course's 11th hole, was originally slated to be carried out on neighbouring Ship's Hill.
