Troubled insurer to receive funds

million of capital into troubled US insurer Continental Corp, the group's managing directors said last Friday.
The group, which is led by Texas investor Mr. Robert Bass and Chase Manhattan Corp., made the infusion to avoid ratings downgrades by insurance company ratings services.
It also named a new chief executive officer and chairman of the US insurer.
Mr. Richard Haverland will replace Mr. John Mascotte.
