Teachers back to school at BAMZ

Island Ecology Teacher Training Course at the Bermuda Aquarium, Museum and Zoo (BAMZ) between July 16 and July 22.

The participants will study the Island's marine eco-system and use the information to help give their students a positive attitude toward the environment.

President of Friends of the Bermuda Aquarium, and former BAMZ curator, Richard Winchell said: "We are proud to provide a unique educational, environmental and cultural link between Bermuda and the United States, based on our common bonds as neighbours and stewards of Earth's environment.'' During the week the participants will undergo field work, lab work and lectures. The Bermuda Biological Station for Research will provide the labs for the participants and housing for the US teachers.

Speakers will include BAMZ curator Jack Ward, head aquarist Jennifer Gray, museum collections director Lisa Greene and Bobbii Cartwright.
