The trial of two men charged with serious sexual assault started in Supreme Court yesterday.

However, no evidence has been heard yet as lawyers immediately launched into legal arguments upon selection of the jury who were then ushered from the courtroom.

The jury was due to return tomorrow at 3 p.m. when it is hoped witnesses will begin giving evidence before Puisne Judge Vincent Meerabux.

The two men are charged with the serious sexual assault of a woman on December 11, 1994.

At the time of the incident the men both lived in Devonshire and were 19 and 17 respectively. Their alleged victim was 29 and living in Pembroke at the time.
