Prime Minister Tony Blair is understood to have had dinner with Michael Douglas during his holiday in Bermuda.understands film superstar and Bermuda resident Mr. Douglas dined with Mr. Blair and his barrister wife Cherie on Saturday night.

Although the Blairs, who are staying at Government House, are on holiday, Premier Alex Scott said he may meet the Prime Minister this week as a matter of courtesy.

Mr. Scott said it would be up to Government House to confirm any arrangements of the Prime Minister, but he said there would be no ?real business? if they did meet.

Mr. Scott told : ?There is the possibility (of a meeting), although the arrangements must go through Government House.

?Although it is a vacation, there is the possibility we would get together as a courtesy.

?I respect that he is on vacation with this wife and family and I would not want to burden him with any real business.?

Deputy Governor Nick Carter would not comment yesterday when asked about the Prime Minister?s plans.

The Prime Minister and his wife have been spending time in Bermuda on the boat of local acting judge and barrister Justin Williams.

The British tabloid newspaper the published pictures yesterday of the Blairs on board Mr. Williams? boat.

Mr. Williams was the chairman of the Bermuda Bar Association social committee which arranged to bring Mrs. Blair to the Island in May last year to speak at a Bar dinner.

The Blairs celebrated Easter Sunday yesterday at St. Michael?s Roman Catholic Church in Paget.

The family mixed with parishioners at the 8.45 a.m. mass, although they had security guards in attendance.

One person who was at the mass said yesterday: ?They sat in the middle of the church and didn?t want to cause any fuss because they wanted to attend as a family.

?Afterwards they shook hands with the people they had met in church. It was a special occasion that they chose to come to St. Michael?s.?

Mrs. Blair is a Catholic and has attended St. Michael?s before on one of her three previous visits to the Island.

Although he has been in Bermuda since Thursday on holiday, Mr. Blair has also been doing some work.

He wrote a piece for yesterday?s newspaper in Britain saying the US and Britain had to win the ?historic struggle? for democracy in Iraq. The newspaper said Mr. Blair wrote the piece from Bermuda.

?We are locked in an historic struggle in Iraq,? wrote Mr. Blair. ?Were we to fail, which we will not, it is more than the ?power of America? that would be defeated. The hope of freedom and religious tolerance would be wiped out.?

And it is reported Mr. Blair will hold ?crisis talks? with US President George W Bush over the violence in Iraq when they meet in Washington on Friday.

Mr. Blair?s office, 10 Downing Street, has confirmed he will meet Mr. Bush on Friday and United Nations Secretary General Kofi Annan in New York on Thursday.
