Roberts, 34, of Somerset Road, Sandys Parish, was charged with causing death by dangerous driving.

Construction worker Craig Walter Astwood, 30, died as a result of a collision between his bike and a van on September 10, 1996, at the junction of South Road and Horseshoe Road in Southampton.

Magistrate Arthur Hodgson ordered Roberts to appear for arraignment in the Supreme Court on February 2.

Roberts, who was represented by lawyer Mark Diel, was released on bail.
