Bruno Sala, of Verdmont Drive, pleaded guilty in Magistrates' Court to driving with 273 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood.

Police prosecutor Sgt. John Dale said Police saw Sala run a stop sign at Reid Street shortly after 11.30 p.m. on July 23.

"They followed the rider onto Front Street and watched him park in a cycle bay,'' Sgt. Dale said. "They called him and he got off the cycle and staggered across the street.'' When Police asked Sala if he was drunk he said: "No and if you don't believe me, I'll take the test.'' When he took the test he was found to have almost three times the legal limit of alcohol in his system.

Senior Magistrate the Wor. Will Francis fined him and disqualified him from driving all vehicles for 12 months.
