Linda Byrom, 38, was fined $500 and banned from driving all vehicles for 12 months for driving while impaired.

She was pulled over by Police at 2.20 a.m. on June 30 when they spotted her car swerving from side to side on The Lane in Paget.

Police reported that her speech was slurred and her breath smelled of intoxicants. A breath test revealed a blood alcohol reading of 238 milligrams per 100 millilitres of blood. The legal limit is 80 mg/100 ml of blood.

And Byrom told Police that she had gone out and deliberately got drunk. But she later admitted to the court: "I knew what I did was wrong.''
