Tropical Storm Cristobal is a potential threat to Bermuda, but is not currently expected to come closer to the Island than 170 nautical miles, forecasters said at midday today.

At 12 noon today Cristobal was located near 29.3N 76.0W approx. 610 nautical miles west of Bermuda.

Cristobal had maximum sustained winds of 40 knots gusting to 50, and was nearly stationary.

The closest point of approach of the storm to Bermuda within the next 72 hours, is forecast to be approximately 170 nautical miles to the Northwest at 7 p.m. tomorrow.
