The 18-year-old told Magistrates' Court he was stopped by Police while riding to his girlfriend's house to fetch an inhaler.

"My cousin was in bad shape. The bike was the first thing that came to mind,'' he said.

Sgt. Wilbert McLean, prosecuting, said Cann was stopped in Somerset Road, Sandys, on May 6.

When questioned, he told Police: "Yeah, I'm off the road,'' added Sgt.

McLean.

Cann, of Elys Harbour, Sandys, was banned for a further 18 months and fined $300 after admitting driving while disqualified.
