A handful of Bermuda restaurants will be featured tonight on The Food Network's "$40 a Day".

Celebrity chef Rachael Ray, the programme's host, was in Bermuda in May to film episodes of the popular programme.

Ms Ray visited several of the Island's popular eateries, including Aggie's Garden Cafe, Fresco's Restaurant and Wine Bar and Swizzle Inn. While in Bermuda, Ms Ray said it was a challenge to stick to her $40 budget.

"I think when people see the show they will be pleasantly surprised," she told in MayEating on a budget in Bermuda is a real story to tell. It's a challenge ? I like to pick places that are expensive for that reason."

Ms Ray also said visitors ? especially Americans ? have not discovered Bermuda's tasty and affordable pub fare.

"In the United States our bars do not offer great cuisine, she said. "There's not just wings and things here ? curries in the pubs are lovely and affordable and a really great way to have a nice dinner. I think anyone would find that eating this way is a very pleasant experience. There's no 'budget' feel about it at all."

Back-to-back episodes of the programme will air tonight beginning at 10 p.m. on CableVision channel 33 and WoW channel 312.
