guilty to possessing $2,500 worth of cannabis with intent to supply.

Sidney Wilton Woolridge, of Cedar Park Drive, Pembroke, pleaded guilty to possessing more than 100 bags of cannabis with intent to supply.

A social inquiry report was ordered.

Prosecutor Sgt. Donald Grant said narcotics officers went to a home on Fenton's Drive, Pembroke with a search warrant at about 4.30 p.m. on November 24, 1994.

Woolridge met them at the door holding a brown paper bag. Inside was a plastic bag containing plant material.

After a search of the house, Woolridge admitted he had bought an ounce of cannabis from a man at Devonshire Recreation Club. He said he intended to smoke a portion and give some of it away to friends.

The bag contained 27.3 grams of the controlled drug with a street value of $1,350, Police said.

On March 2, 1995, Police went to the junction of St. Augustine's Hill and Curving Avenue at 7.10 p.m.

There they saw Woolridge sitting on a motorcycle among a group of men and women. He was searched and a bag with 99 brown envelopes was found in his stomach area.

He admitted it was cannabis. At Hamilton Police Station another envelope was found containing plant material.

A search of his home revealed more brown envelopes, a set of scales, a broken bottle with white powder and an aluminium pan.

Woolridge said he purchased an ounce of cannabis from a man at the Devonshire Recreation Club on March 1.

He said he bought the envelopes at the Dub City Variety store.

Woolridge said he intended to sell the drugs during a football game for $25 each. The 99 brown bags contained 61.5 grams of cannabis, the envelope found in his jacket contained two grams of cannabis. The aluminium pan also tested positive for cannabis when analysed.

The broken bottle tested positive for signs of cocaine.

Magistrate the Wor. Cheryl Ann Mapp rejected submissions from Mr. Philip Perinchief, representing Woolridge, that he should be released on bail until he is sentenced.

"These are very serious offences,'' she said. "An immediate custodial sentence is in order.'' Woolridge will appear for mention on April 20, but he will be sentenced on May 4.
