after admitting drinking and driving.

Leroy G.R. Burns, of Serpentine Road, Pembroke, pleaded guilty at Magistrates' Court to driving an auxiliary motorcycle while impaired.

Sgt. Peter Giles, the Police Prosecutor, told Senior Magistrate Will Francis that on August 13 this year Police on patrol on Pitts Bay Road saw Burns riding his bike.

"Officers noticed he was unsteady on the vehicle and saw him drive into Bermudiana Road and then Gorham Road where he was signalled to stop,'' said Sgt. Giles.

He added that officers noticed his breath smelled of alcohol and said Burns said he had been talking to his cousin and admitted having had a few Elephants beers.

A breath test showed that Burns had 284 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood. The legal limit is 80.

Mr. Francis fined Burns $500 and banned him from driving all vehicles for 12 months.
