Parks Department last week, it was due to a problem with Telephone Company line and was not Government's fault.

Director Mr. John Barnes said only one main line was working on Wednesday and Thursday and his private line and fax were still out on Friday due to a problem with Telco lines on Point Finger Road.

The Department had to use radio phones and messenger services to communicate with the outside world during office hours.

Mr. Barnes said he received complaints via Government Information Services that people were unable to get through to the department, which houses dog wardens, park rangers and conservation officers.

Telco operations manager Mr. Collington Perinchief said on Friday all lines were back up except for the fax, which was due to be working yesterday.

The problem was due to a wet underground cable which had to be replaced. It was penetrated with water due to rain squalls in the area over time, he said.
