The 50-pound Royal Air Force aerial bomb was successfully detonated on location near Eastern Blue Cut by the Police Explosive Ordinance Disposal team.

Police believe the bomb could have been in the water for up to 50 years.

Yesterday a spokesman advised anyone who found a similar device not to touch it but to report it to the Police immediately for safe detonation.
