George's, accused of committing premeditated murder on his estranged wife. On the basis of the report, a jury could be asked to decide if West is fit to face trial.

West has been on suicide watch since his incarceration in January and is undergoing psychiatric treatment.

At arraignments yesterday, West was not required to make a plea after his lawyer Miss Patricia Harvey requested the report.

Chief Justice the Hon. Austin Ward ordered the report to be ready in two weeks time.

"If he is not fit to plea, the matter should be resolved as speedily as possible,'' Mr. Ward said.

Lawyer Charles Vaucrosson, 60, of North Shore Road, Pembroke pleaded not guilty to seven counts of stealing $393,000 and one of fraudulent disposal of trust property by a trustee between February 1 and February 28. He was ordered to reappear in court on October 2 for mention.

Also in arraignments yesterday, James Prescott Skinner, 26, of Town Hill Road, Smith's Parish, pleaded not guilty to causing death by dangerous driving on Verdmont Road, Smith's on March 6, 1994. Giant Food store owner Mr. George Whitecross was killed in that accident.

Skinner was bailed with one surety to appear for mention in Supreme Court on August 1.

And John Sinclair Anderson, 27, of Orchard Grove, Pembroke pleaded guilty to ten counts of wilful damage, stealing, taking and driving away a car without permission, breaking and entering and escaping custody.

Mr. Ward remanded him in custody while a social inquiry report was prepared.
