Officers spotted Neiko Burchall, unemployed, from Roberts Avenue, appearing to carry out a transaction with a woman on Court Street, Hamilton on the afternoon of October 8.

In Magistrates' Court Police prosecutor Sgt. Phil Taylor said: "The Police got out of the vehicle and approached the man and he appeared to be shocked.'' When told he was going to be arrested Burchall fled along Princess Street and Dundonald Street. Burchall told Police: "You got me -- I was running because I was smoking crack.''
