promoting the Island's Open Karate Championships during a weekend trip to the US east coast.

The Open Championships are scheduled to take place at Bermuda College on May 28.

Ingham's first stop on Saturday was at the Ocean State Grandnationals in Providence, Rhode Island, where he placed second in the masters forms division for competitors over the age of 50.

The event reportedly attracted some 2,000 entrants from as far afield as Italy, Germany, Austria and Turkey.

On Sunday, Ingham was a guest at the Urban All Goju Invitational at John Jay College of Criminal Justice in New York, which attracted some 500 competitors.

A team from the Bermuda Karate Organisation, headed by Gladwin (Roots) Phillips and Charles Butterfield, leave today for a World Karate Organisation tournament in Italy.
