Port Royal , as fitted dinghy racing continued in Granaway Deep on Sunday.

Under sunny skies and in a blustery 15 knot breeze, the experience of Port Royal skipper Willie White and his crew, and Contest's Andreas Lewin and his crew, again came to the fore.

In the opening race for the A.S.Cooper Trophy, Port Royal registered a comfortable win, having from the start ducked below the sterns of a succession of boats to head for the right side of the course.

Tacking on a giant shift, she then came back, crossing the rest of the fleet by a significant margin.

With Port Royal increasing her lead, the rest fought for second place, with Challenger (Paula Lewin) fouling out after clipping Echo (Somers Kempe) in an attempt to duck her.

Contest and Echo were left to fight for second with Victory close behind.

But Elizabeth and Echo both sank, leaving Contest to take second place and Victory third, although they too were heavily overcanvassed and came close to sinking themselves.

In the second race for the White's Island Trophy, held up due to a number of equipment breakdowns, Contest's skipper Lewin took advantage of the delay to change to a smaller rig.

And it was a move which paid big dividends as he was able to better cope with the shifty conditions, fighting through the fleet to overtake early leader Elizabeth on the third weather leg.

Port Royal moved through to third, unable to get past Elizabeth . while Challenger would settle for fourth.

Again there were two casualties, Victory and Echo both sinking.
