The Island is featured on a three-page spread in Travel Holiday magazine with Sony, who have also used the advertorial to promote a digital camera. And the partnership could lead to more co-promotions -- using one product to push another -- in the future.
Tourism's assistant director, marketing Cherrie Whitter said the publicity was free, as the Department of Tourism had to supply photographs for the layout.
The deal was pulled together by Travel Holiday, a bi-monthly publication, which is smaller than more mainstream magazines such as Conde Nast Traveller or Travel and Leisure, but has a different editorial content.
