National Drug Commission treatment coordinator Dr. Lynda Price was made Vice President of the International Certification and Reciprocity Consortium, Alcohol and Other Drugs at a recent Board of Directors meeting.

The organisation is responsible for setting certification standards for addiction counsellors. Bermuda has been a full member of ICARCAOD for the past year, having adopted the valid and reliable credential process for addiction counsellors developed by the organisation.

NDC chief Dr. Derrick Binns said: "This is a significant accomplishment for Bermuda.

"Given the size of our Island, the short period of time during which our board has been in operation and the number of persons certified by our board, the election of Dr. Price as Vice President, representing the Bermuda board, attests to the high quality of professionals that are providing services to Bermuda. The NDC congratulates Dr. Price on this accomplishment.''
