BMA staff get service awards
five other long-serving employees when they received their 10-year awards yesterday.
And "probably the longest serving chairman'', Mr. Charles Mann, retires today, executly six years and eight months after he took up the position.
Mrs. Fern Wade and Mrs. Leonorea Stovel-Smith were given engraved silver plates.
Mrs. Wade has worked in Foreign Exchange Assistance and the Companies Division as well as her current post in the Exchange Control.
Mrs. Stovel-Smith has been in the Exchange Control department since her arrival at the BMA.
She said: "I've enjoyed my ten years and hope to stay around for another ten.'' Mr. Mann was on the Monetary Authority's board in 1974 and 1975, was reappointed in 1984 and became chairman in May, 1986.
