Biz directory out, with greetings from^.^.^.^Swan
already out of date.
Published by the Bermudian Publishing Company Ltd., the 250-page directory is up-to-date with 350 corporate listings of Bermuda-based international companies and the Island's service providers.
But it had already gone to press before the leadership turn-out in the Government and consequently has introductory messages from "Premier Sir John Swan'' and "Minister of Finance, Dr. David Saul''.
The publishing company said the tremendous growth in the Island's international business industry, especially the insurance sector, is detailed in the book.
The former Premier is quoted in the introduction: "The directory is a most useful and comprehensive source of information which will be especially helpful, not only to those resident in Bermuda, but also to potential clients overseas who are interested in doing business in Bermuda.'' Now in its fourth edition, 50 pages of the directory are dedicated to the Government sector, including details on regulations, guidelines and fees for companies, partnerships, trust funds, mutual funds, ships, aircraft and foreign sales corporations.
The latest amendments to the Insurance legislation are included and this edition has a section on useful Government departments, names and numbers.
The Island's major professional associations and the Insurance Advisory Committee (IAC) are also included.
Showing the most growth is the section devoted to international insurance and reinsurance companies.
Retailing for $25, the directory is also distributed overseas, after being first published in 1989. Some 3,000 copies have been printed this year, with another 2,000 to be printed next year.
