Local stocks inch up
traders shook off some summer lethargy.
The Bermuda Stock Exchange Index closed up .66 points to close at 1143.37 as Belco closed up 12.5 cents to $19.875 on volume of 500.
Bermuda Home -- which is not part of the Index -- traded for the first time since its rights issue prospectus was issued on Monday, jumped 62.5 cents to close at $8.625 on volume of 625 shares.
The Bank of Bermuda and the Bank of Butterfield were both unchanged on heavy volume, with Bank of Bermuda holding at $21.50 on volume of 1,076 and NTB closing at $32 on volume of 2,291.
Ban of Bermuda 9% US dollar notes fell 25 cents to close at $106.25 on volume of 2500 units while First Bermuda Securities mortgage backed notes were unchanged at $100 on volume of 600 units.
