"Even though this special economy calling period is only for a limited time, we have other proposals before the Commission that address permanent extensions of discount and economy calling periods to the United States, the United Kingdom and the Caribbean.'' However, rival TeleBermuda International said it will continue to oppose C&W's ad hoc discount initiatives.

It wants C&W to submit a comprehensive rate structure to the commission.

The Telecommunications Commission has asked for but has not received this from C&W which says it is under consideration.
