Government House yesterday announced that Princess Alexandra -- the Queen's cousin -- will pay a three-day visit to the Island.

As vice president of the British Red Cross Society, Princess Alexandra will conduct several engagements for the Bermuda Red Cross from March 18 to 20.

The Princess will be accompanied by her husband, Sir Angus Ogilvy.

FIRE CAUSES $10,000 DAMAGE FIR Fire causes $10,000 damage Up to $10,000 damage was caused when fire swept a bathroom in an apartment at a house in East Shore Road, Sandys, shortly after 7 p.m. last night.

There was extensive heat and smoke damage to the rest of the apartment, a Fire Service spokesman said.

The spokesman said the apartment was unoccupied at the time and the cause of the blaze was under investigation.

CAR BURSTS INTO FLAMES FIR Car bursts into flames A faulty distributor caused a car to suddenly burst into flames on Tuesday evening.

A Police spokesperson said the car ignited in the Paynter's Road, Hamilton Parish area around 7.34 p.m.

The fire was already extinguished when Police arrived.
