Bermuda for a quarter of a century was held at Camden on the weekend.

More than 200 past and present directors, current shareholders and staff of OIL, together with government and other local dignitaries, attended the event, marking 25 years of operations here.

The reception was followed by dinner at Cafe Lido restaurant.

OIL is a mutual insurer owned by 44 shareholders who are members of the petroleum industry.

The 25th anniversary celebrations followed a week of meetings at which the restructuring of OIL's insurance programmes were approved by the shareholders for implementation in 1996.

OIL president Mr. Doyle Stephens said of Saturday night: "The celebrations this evening not only represent the culmination of a successful week of meetings but they also mark the completion of our first 25 years in business.

"And based on the actions taken yesterday by the shareholders, I am encouraged that the company is in an excellent position to meet the challenges of the next 25 years.'' Bermuda last week. They are shown with OIL president Mr. Doyle Stephens and Mrs. Stephens.
