The owners of the 179-metre-long, 22,330-ton cargo vessel Hans Schulte were persuaded to fly the Bermuda Flag on their new ship by Bermuda-based ship management firm Atlantic Marine Limited.

Atlantic Marine is fully managing five container ships presently and the new vessel is due for delivery into its management on August 26.

The company has been further involved in promoting the Island through its involvement in the training of Bermudian Francis Richardson.

The Marine and Ports employee sailed as an engineer on a number of vessels managed by Atlantic Marine and upon the completion of his sea time he sat an exam and was awarded a First Class Certificate of Competency to sail as Chief Engineer on vessels of unlimited horsepower.
