Learning difficulties affect people from all walks of life but for some the cost of getting appropriate help may be beyond their financial means.
The Reading Clinic has always maintained a policy of not turning away anyone for financial reasons. The Reading Clinic does not receive a grant from Government. Financial assistance is only possible because of the support of a broad community of friends.
The majority of students who request financial assistance from The Reading Clinic have learning differences that have prevented or will prevent them from reaching their potential.
Building literacy skills for these students not only assures them of a brighter future, but also contributes to the prevention of secondary problems that have been strongly linked to untreated learning difficulties, for example substance abuse, juvenile delinquency and criminal behaviours.
