For Bermuda's first woman leader is to make her US debut in a live interview with CNN.

Ms Gordon will appear on CNN's Morning News programme talking to the award-winning team of Donna Kelly and Leon Harris.

Speaking from Atlanta, Georgia, Ms Gordon said yesterday: "I've been so busy here that it's stopped me thinking I should be nervous.

"My biggest concern is that I want to make sure I represent Bermuda well and that's it -- I'm not caught up in myself about this.'' The Premier is in Atlanta -- the home of CNN -- for the RIMS insurance conference.

Her TV appearance in front of an estimated 300,000 viewers is expected to last six to eight minutes.

It is believed that the equivalent advertising time would run to $100,000 a minute.

Ms Gordon said: "We couldn't pay for that -- and I want to make it good public relations for Bermuda.

The Premier, who is expected to discuss subjects ranging from the Island's domestic and international business to tourism, will appear at 11.30 a.m.

Bermuda time.

She said: "I want to get the message across which will please not only the people of Bermuda, but encourage people who are watching to think of Bermuda as a tourist destination as well as a business jurisdiction.

"Because we are here in relation to RIMS, it's important to get across that while international business is very significant and important it's vital that our tourism product is equally important. The two are inextricably linked. You can't have one without the other.'' It will be the second international TV spot for Ms Gordon since she became Premier three weeks ago. She was interviewed by the BBC World TV news service shortly after she was elected Premier.
