`Alabama' put in jail
to Tobacco Bay when he was jailed for three months.
Alvin (Alabama) Anderson, 57, of Old Well Lane, St. George's was seen near Tobacco Bay, St. George's waving a half full sherry bottle above his head and preventing visitors from crossing the main road to the beach, Magistrates' Court heard yesterday.
Crown counsel Leighton Rochester told the court that Police on patrol saw Anderson at 1.40 p.m. waving a bottle of Old England Port. Anderson allegedly told a visitor: "F*** off, you cannot pass here to the beach.'' He was arrested and charged with drinking in a public place and using offensive words.
"When was he last here,'' asked Senior Magistrate Will Francis. Anderson said he was in court last week. Mr. Francis said: "I have given you breaks.
Intimidating visitors is a serious offence and it is time to remind you how serious this is.''
