Cruise arrivals drop, Meridian put in dry dock

He added that this was her regularly scheduled time to go on dry dock. Meyer Agencies also reported that the cruise ship Fedor Dostoevskiy spent the day in Bermuda this week.

She arrived from New York on Monday morning and left that evening for Ponta Dalgada in the Azores.

The Horizon also arrived on Monday morning from New York.

She was slightly late because she had to avoid Hurricane Luis.

She berthed at Number One Dock in Hamilton with 1,293 passengers and shifted to St. George's yesterday morning. She was due to return to New York this afternoon.

Meyer Agencies said the Dreamward arrived a day later than scheduled because of Hurricane Luis. She arrived on Tuesday from New York with 1,237 passengers.

Because she arrived a day late she went straight to Hamilton instead of stopping in St. George's. The Dreamward was expected to leave this afternoon.

The Song of America and Royal Majesty both arrived in St. George's on Tuesday with 1,265 and 921 passengers, respectively, local agents John S. Darrell reported.

Royal Majesty berthed at Ordinance Island and will return to Boston tomorrow afternoon. Song of America berthed overnight and then moved to Number One Dock yesterday morning. She was also due to leave tomorrow afternoon.

In other shipping news Meyer Agencies said the Bermuda Islander arrived a day ahead of schedule with 56 dry containers, four refrigerated containers and a 23-foot boat.

She arrived Monday afternoon and left the next day to return to Salem, New Jersey.

The Somers Isle also arrived on Monday morning with 50 containers which included five refrigerated containers. She was also carrying 44 bundles of lumber, four bundles of steel and a catamaran.

She was due to return to Fernandina Beach, Florida this afternoon.

A Container Ship Management Limited spokesman said the Oleander arrived on Monday morning after avoiding Luis.

She was carrying 133 containers which included 36 refrigerated containers, three 40-foot maffis, an oxygen truck and a car. She left on Tuesday morning.
