Island Press delists, warrants trade
Exchange yesterday as its Millenium warrants traded for the first time.
The warrants, which can be used to buy Bank of Bermuda shares between 1996 and the year 2000 -- were issued as part of a bank rights issue last month. They closed at $2.25 on volume of 1,754.
The bank's ordinary shares traded unchanged at $19 on volume of 2,410 yesterday as the Exchange Index was also unchanged at 1094.05.
In other trading, Bermuda Home 8 percent preference shares dropped 25 cents to close at $11.625 on volume of 380 and Bank of Bermuda 9% preference shares fell 75 cents to close at $104.25 on volume of 1,000. The Exchange announced yesterday it had agreed to delist the Island Press from the Exchange, as a result of its merger with the Bermuda Sun Ltd.
Island Press traded between $5 and $4.50 this year. It last traded on May 3, when it closed at $4.50.
The Island Press swallowed up the financially troubled Bermuda Sun Newspaper, after years of poor financial results.
