Sound of Bermuda on CD recording

German pharmaceutical businessman and music producer Mr. Manfred Kriwet, who has visited the Island 19 times since 1974, has produced a song called "Bermuda Paradise''.

Mr. Kriwet, who left the Island earlier this week after a brief visit, said he decided to record the song about the "beautiful isles'' because he wanted to share his experiences with others.

The song, which has a calypso-reggae beat and highlights Bermuda's beauty, is recorded by two Americans who live and perform in Mr. Kriwet's hometown, Hamburg, Germany.

Mr. Reginald Worthy, a member of Tina Turner's band, and Victoria Miles are on vocals. Mr. Worthy also arranged the music.

"Bermuda Paradise'' is recorded on a compact disc and is expected to be available in stores shortly.

Mr. Kriwet said the CD would make "a perfect Christmas gift'' for Bermudians to send to relatives overseas.

He said he was urging radio stations in Bermuda to give the song air play and was also working to have it released in London sometime between next month and January.
