Winning is a Pease of cake for Glaser
Tuesday, yesterday finished the North American Tornado Championship the same way she began it -- with a victory.
Glaser's victory capped off an incredible week, which saw her finish first in all but two races -- she twice finished second on Tuesday -- and the only women at the helm of a Tornado has once again served notice that she is a force to be reckoned with. Glaser finished the four days of competition with eight points.
Yesterday's action in the Great Sound featured the final race, with one race shelved due to diminishing winds.
When the final results from the 10-race series were tallied two Bermudian entries found themselves in the top five -- Alan Burland with crew Chris Nash finished fourth on 34 cumulative points, while Glen Astwood and crew Damian Payne were fifth on 40.
Finishing second overall was Johnny Lovell of Houston on 19 points while Lars Guck of Rhode Island finished third with 12 cumulative points.
Sailors were able to drop their two weakest finishes.
Glaser was presented with a championship trophy last night by Brian Billings, commodore of the Royal Bermuda Yacht Club.
