Sen. Kim Swan (UBP) said it was time for the PLP to stop casting aspersions on the newspaper and start acting responsibly.

His comments followed an attack on the daily paper in the House of Assembly on Friday, when several PLP MPs slammed the newspaper.

Sen. Swan said it was time the PLP stopped using The Royal Gazette as an excuse when they disagreed with a story.

"You can't just dispel it by saying "that's the rag sheet'', I can't have that any more,'' he said. "I don't think it is right, the Government has the opportunity to act responsibly. The PLP needs to stop this campaign.'' Sen. Swan, whose wife Cindy Swan writes a column for The Royal Gazette , called for dialogue or a widening of the Broadcast Commission to include newspapers.
