Initially, the plan was to have the renovations complete by the opening of Parliament last Friday.

It is proposed to move Supreme Court Two from upstairs to downstairs so that the entire ground floor will house the judiciary with the upper floor housing the Legislature.

However, Works and Engineering Minister Leonard Gibbons said the plans were on hold because his Ministry was in the midst of discussions with the Chief Justice.

"We're conducting further discussions with him and we are progressing slowly,'' Mr. Gibbons said.

Among the host of proposed changes are the relocation of the public restrooms on the ground floor which would allow for the building to have a public entrance on the eastern side and a business entrance on the western side.

The plans also include changes to the tea room and offices of the Legislature which will be enlarged so that Sessions House can conduct its current functions in a more productive manner.

Leslie Brooks, of the Canadian Hotel on Reid Street, pleaded guilty in Magistrates' Court to possessing the cocaine on July 20.

Prosecutor Sgt. Kenrick James said Police, on patrol on Perimeter Lane in Pembroke, stopped Brooks, who seemed nervous, and searched him. They found the cocaine in a brown paper twist hidden in his sock.
