Bay MarketPlace bakery remains in stable condition at in intensive care.

Meanwhile, inspectors from Health and Safety at Work were yesterday continuing to invrstigate the Monday night accident.

The woman -- understood to 40-year-old Smith's Parish resident Mrs. Mary Schallock -- was rushed by ambulance to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital after she severely mangled her right arm below the elbow while in the store's bakery.

Doctors -- during emergency surgery early Tuesday morning -- managed to save the arm, which has been reported as "severely mangled''.

MarketPlace management have been tightlipped about the incident, saying they are investigating and would issue a comment later.

It is understood however that Ms Schallock was visiting the bakery -- which operates between the hours of 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. -- and is managed by a Mr.

Patrick Schallock.

Sources told The Royal Gazette she was able to walk away from the accident under her own power and wait for emergency crews.
