Last night the UBP's Chief Whip Rick Spurling confirmed he had received the committee's report.

However he declined to comment on reports that it recommended that no action be taken against the `Five'.

"I have the report, which has been completed, but I cannot comment on its recommendations,'' he said.

"I do not think we would release anything until Caucus has had an opportunity to discuss the report,'' said Mr. Spurling. The next Caucus meeting is due to take place on September 12.

The `Five' -- Ann Cartwright DeCouto, C.V. Jim Woolridge, Dr. David Dyer, Clarence Terceira and Trevor Moniz -- were hauled before the disciplinary hearing after a series of embarrassments for Government.

They were responsible for passing the Prohibited Restaurant Bill, aimed at stopping McDonald's, as well as delaying a Bill aimed at securing

However it was for their part in backing a Progressive Labour Party motion of censure against Premier David Saul that they faced the disciplinary hearing.

They were charged with "bringing the UBP into disrepute by their support of an Opposition motion of censure against the Premier''.

Last week a disciplinary hearing broke up after the rebels challenged the appropriateness of the hearing.

The `Five's' lawyer Wendell Hollis said he received a letter indicating the disciplinary committee would still go ahead and make recommendations and the rebels would not be able to make further submissions.

Last night Mr. Hollis was not available for comment, but Dr. Dyer said he was unaware of the report's recommendations and did not expect to see them until the Caucus meeting.
