before midnight on Tuesday.

The woman told Police she was sitting on steps outside a building on Court Street, Pembroke, with a significant amount of money in her hand.

She alleged that a man approached her, began talking with her, and then snatched the money out of her hand and ran on to Victoria Street, into a nearby parking lot.

She described the man as light-skinned with an Afro and wearing a jean jacket, pants, and some type of hat.

MAN PUNCHES WOMAN CRM Man punches woman A man, who intervened in a fight between two women and allegedly punched one of them in the mouth, will face prosecution.

Police yesterday reported that the fight occurred outside a Court Street nightclub around 1 a.m. yesterday.

The 28-year-old Warwick man punched the 31-year-old Devonshire woman, causing a cut to her upper lip.

Police said the woman went to a nearby parking lot, but the man followed her and grabbed her by the neck and pushed her down. He then kicked her on the leg and side.

POLICE BROKE BREAK-IN CRM Police probe break-in Police are investigating a break-in at the Cedar Park Variety Store in Devonshire sometime between 1 and 3 p.m. on Tuesday.

The proprietress had left the store secured just prior to the incident.

Police were able to recover one item and descriptions of possible suspects.

A Canadian couple reported they awoke around 4.30 a.m. to find a purse that had been resting on a side table missing.

The purse contained a quantity of cash, travellers cheques, credit cards, and other personal items.

RED FLARE SPOTTED RAO Red flare spotted A red signal flare was seen off the South Shore of Southampton on Sunday night, Harbour Radio reported.

A member of the public reported the midnight sighting to Police which led to a inquiry.

But there were no further sightings or reports of overdue vessels.

Vessels, however, have been asked to look out for possible boats in distress.
