Last night a Meyer Agencies spokesman said Atlantic Forest was en route to North Carolina.

But it is still unknown if local authorities will press charges against the ship.

Atlantic Forest arrived last week to load barges from its damaged sister ship Green Island which is currently undergoing repairs in Dockyard.

But she began leaking what was believed to be fuel oil as it was anchored off Great Head in St. George's on Tuesday.

Marine officials responded, but decided emergency clean up measures were unnecessary because winds were pushing the oil slick away from the Island.
