For Mr. Lewis, due to become a regular act at Show Biz, is to sing the Welsh National Anthem before the first Canada-Wales game at Hamilton, Ontario, in June.

It is the first of three rugby union games involving Wales and the improving Canadians.

Mr. Lewis said it is a "terrific honour'' to be asked the sing "Land Of My Fathers'' before the game. He added: "It is almost as great an honour as pulling on the red shirt (of Wales).'' A regular guest artist at the Bermuda Folk Club, he believes he was chosen because of the time he has spent in Canada, and because of his friendship with the Niagara Old Boys Rugby Union Club who came to Bermuda some years ago.

He said: "They were holding a pool side party and asked me to sing there for them. I now go over there twice a year.'' Mr. Lewis has been on the Island for 11 years after originally arriving on a temporary basis.
